• ELMIT was created as a company for products, which did not fit into Trace, or what the management of Trace did not consider as a good product.
  ELMIT is doing at the present time consulting for different companies in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore.

• ELMIT has developed many Internet products:
  • Dynamic DNS, a way where users with a dynamic IP address (e.g., ADSL) will be able to be reached by name, even when the IP address changes.

  • MiniServer is a "small ISP" for the user of a dedicated connection (e.g. ADSL). The server includes all functions an ISP has in one server, but also includes a firewall for the internal LAN.
    The miniServer is IPv6 ready. The miniServer is an ideal product for a small or middle sized company, to use the server for their multiple web sites. Multiple e-mails, mailing list, ftp, dhcpd, virtual domains, virus scan on the mail server, file and printer sharing and many other features are included. The miniServer can also be connected to multiple ISPs (e.g, any combination of ADSL from one ISP and cable from another ISP, Satellite connection and leased lines)

President, CEO & CTO

• I have built up Wang's Trace Tech. Enterprise Co., Ltd, starting as a trading company with the target of German speaking customers in Europe (Austria, Germany & Switzerland). The high phone rate to Europe inspired me to setup two BBS stations, one in Austria and one in Taiwan. These two BBS stations exchanged Fax and E-mails to the other site. When the Internet becomes available in Taiwan and Austria, the BBS stations have been replaced with a direct Internet connection. More bandwidth resulted in higher costs again, and forced me to share the bandwidth with friends. That way the ISP got created. Trace applied for the ISP license and we expanded from Linkou to Taipei city. The bandwidth was then up to three T3 lines and multiple T1's.

• Product range was from virtual domains to dialup connections (multiple modem, ISDN and ADSL) or dedicated lines, like leased lines or wireless connections. Video on demand, KTV over Internet, and many more.

• The capital reached 120 million NT$

President

• This company developed electronic and microprocessor controlled machines and devices. I have made in this time 95% of all programs. My engineers have been developing the hardware and assembled prototypes. Some of the products have been: robots, environment measurement systems, medical instruments, and many more.

• In average we developed one product per week over 6 years (about 300 products!!!)

• The challenge in this company was to balance the excitement of the engineers to produce "golden" products and the basic wishes of the customers and what they were willing to pay for.

• Soft + Hard made turn key solutions for middle sized companies for computer software and hardware.

Organization programmer

• PEWAG is the biggest snow chain manufacturer in Austria. My job was to program the administration flow and the manufacturing flow of the products. I also had to establish communication links from the head quarter to the factories for data exchange.

• I also had to "explore" the new upcoming "PC"

• Major improvements I made by organizing data and system administration by using the computer power during the night time to do automatically cleanup and maintenance jobs

Chief programmer

• Stiefelkönig is a shoe house with 160 shops. My job was to make the logistic programs and statistics for all the 160 shops as well as for the mail order division.

• With the help of the program, we could delivery waiting customers the wished shoe from a neighbor branch, while the customer was still in the shop.

• One of the biggest improvements I made was to shorten the long loading time of the program by using new technology to send a screen to the user, before the program was loaded. The user had the impression, that the program is now faster, just because he did not need to wait the loading time.

Assistant

• I was University assistant at the Institute for Electrical Engineering. My job was to maintain the computer equipment and program complex simulations.

• I also was in charge of computer aided graphic design and photo studio.

I have a patent in house surveillance over the Internet in Taiwan

• The system allows you to get information about your home, like open doors, open windows, including the statistics. You can even turn on / off devices over the Internet.

Since I have studied also Electronic Medicine (all the electronic devices the doctor is using) I served as volunteer in the Red Cross in Austria. I had there also the chance to make several professional courses, like: Mother and Child care, Elderly care, Ray protection bronze and Ray protection silver.
