Statement
Ronald Wiplinger is CEO/CTO of Wangs Trace Techn. Enterprise Co.,Ltd. in Taiwan. He is also CEO of ELMIT Internet consulting.
Ronald Wiplinger was born on March 4, 1956, studied in Salzburg and Graz (Austria/Europe) first Electrical Engineering and than Electronic Medicine.
Ronald was assistant on the Technical University in Graz for three years.
Ronald opened his own companies in Austria, where he developed software and hardware for robots and medical instruments.
During this period Ronald made with his employees many robots and remote controlled devices as well as medical but also instruments for the measurement of environment data.
Later he came to Taiwan and started a trading business between Taiwan and Europe. The high phone costs lead him to setup two bbs stations in Austria and Taiwan and let so faxes and e-mails transfer twice a day with lower cost to the other site.
As the Internet got available, Ronald switched over, and closed the bbs stations. Higher bandwidth, higher costs, forced to share the costs with other people, and so Trace added the ISP business.
Recently Ronald is elected to one of the directors of TWNIC and TWIA (Taiwan ISP Association)
The interests of Ronald are mainly:
- ADSL add-ons
- Dynamic DNS
- IPv6
- Routing issues
- Voice over IP (IPv4 and IPv6)
- VPN
Ronald is very active in APNIC, since it is an important organization, which should help to keep the 'Net running. As ISP we live and die with available or not available IP addresses. It is therefore necessary to push IPv6 in all corners of the earth to get the necessary addressing done as soon as possible.I simply do not want to watch other people to fulfill this need, if I can help to do something as well.
Ronald Wiplinger is an engineer in Electrical Engineering and in Electronic Medicine, as well he is a Doctor of Philosophy and has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
